33-year-old Brazilian model, TV presenter and active protector of animals Karina Oliani starred in an unusual underwater photo shoot. Looking at these pictures, many may think that this is the result of the skillful work of the “photoshopper”, and the model simply posed in a beautiful dress on a green background. But this is not so. The whole photo shoot really went under the water, and Karina not only descended to a considerable depth but also did it without any special equipment and posed surrounded by a couple of dangerous marine predators – sharks. On such feats, the animal lover went to attract public attention to the plight of sharks.
The photo session itself took place in the Bahamas, and the beautiful Brazilian, who, by the way, professionally engaged in diving for 20 years, was helped by the world-famous divers Stuart Cove and Liz Parkinson without any breathing apparatus.
From the sharks, the model was not protected by any cell, and Karina hopes that this fact will help people learn more about the sharks. “They are not murderers at all, ,” says the Brazilian. – Every hour people kill 11 thousand sharks. But these animals are very important for the ecosystem. On our planet sharks have been living for more than 400 million years “.
According to official figures, every year people kill about 100 million sharks.
In 2014, there were only 72 cases of unprovoked shark attacks per person around the world.
Karina Oliani is determined to preserve the harmony of marine life and to shed light on the existence of such cruel practices as, for example, circumcision of shark fins.
