Some forests on our planet are much more fabulous than those that were created by science fiction writers of all time.
We propose to walk the magical paths of the most fantastic forests of the world.
1. Crooked forest, Poland
These trees, which grow in the forest near the town of Grifino, only know that they were planted in the thirties of last century. Hypotheses about the origin of such an unusual form of trunks vary – some people declare their intentional deformation to manufacture ships from comfortable wood, and some believe that during the Second World War, barely formed seedlings drove tanks whose caterpillars were not broken, But they forever lost them.
2. Alley of Baobab, Madagascar
An accumulation of mighty baobabs along a dirt road in the city of Menabe is the main contender for the title of the main natural sight of Madagascar. These 800-year-old giants are able to store in their trunks up to 117 liters of water, the volumes of which determine their peculiar “swollen” shape. Once upon a time there lived a lush forest with a stormy plant life, leaving only a small alley of its majestic heirs.
3. Sunken Forest, Kazakhstan
In 1911 in Kazakhstan there was a strong earthquake, which led to a landslide. As a result, a natural dam formed in one of the valleys and a new lake – Kaindy – was formed. The fir trees that were flooded by the water come to their places and until now – their withered tops create a strange, slightly ominous impression, and the lower parts of the trunks and roots have remained practically preserved, turning the lake into a fascinating underwater forest.
